Technical Update 1/2008
Dear Customer,
Idesco starts sending Technical Update newsletters to customers. The purpose of these newsletters is to keep our customers informed about product changes, modifications, upcoming and discontinued products. We hope You find Technical Update useful and informative.
USB interface available for some Idesco modules
The following Idesco reader types are now available also as USB models:
- Access 7 C
- Access 8 CM and Access 8 CM t
- Access 9 CM
- IR 6090B
Modifications to Access MFinger
Access MFingers have now the feature that they send an 8-bit Wiegand message after each key press in user mode. The message is similar to our other keypad readers’ 8-bit Wiegand message. Both the Access MFinger User Manual and the Output Format Description have been updated to correspond with the current functionality. This change is valid from week 45/2008.
Cable change
The cable type has been changed from LIYCY to LIYY, concerning most of Idesco’s reader products. For additional information please contact support@idesco.fi.
Installation screws will be excluded from delivery packages
Installation screws will be not included anymore in Idesco’s delivery packages. Those installation screws that we have in stock will be delivered during the rest of the year. In most cases the customers use their own installation screws so it is not reasonable to continue the practice of including screws to delivery packages.
Test fee and configuration fee
The sales of our re-configurable readers have increased remarkably. Due to this we are receiving our readers for configuration tests or for re-configuration in increasing amounts. Beginning from November1st we have started invoicing a test fee of products which are sent to us only for inspection. This fee of 30 Euros per reader will be charged if the products are not faulty but we receive them for checking, without a specified reason which would move them to the normal reclamation process. For re-configuration we will invoice an hourly charge. Naturally the fees do not apply to warranty repairs. This information was first time announced in Idesco News 5/2008 dated on 14th October 2008.
