eco20 product platform for high-security, energy efficient access control and other security systems

Idesco’s eco20 product platform readers are a new generation of Idesco products and stand for high security, low power consumption, improved connectivity with other products and smaller carbon footprint through sustainable manufacturing materials and methods. Eco20 platform product readers are used in access control systems which require a high security, versatile configuration options and low power consumption. Eco20 products have been in use since autumn 2009.

eco20 product platform readers with MIFARE® DESFire and MIFARE® Classic technologies improve security in access control. The product platform MIFARE® DESfire readers have the highest level of security with the use of full Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or Triple Data Encryption (Triple DES) communication between the identification cards and the reader.

eco20 product platform readers are more energy efficient as they use 60% less power compared to their previous sister products and most of the other products available on the market. Low power consumption is enabling increased chain effect for minimizing the power supplies and utility equipment connected to the entire end user system. Thus low power consumption installation can be done with less power supplies, peripheral equipment, communication converters etc.

Eco20 product platform readers can be connected to host system via several different connection interfaces and they are also available as a part of Idesco's wireless Cardea (R) network. Idesco Cardea (R) reduces installation time and cost as it communicates wirelessly between readers and host devices.

Idesco’s eco20 product platform readers can be tailored with customer-oriented OEM-platform, which is a cost-effective and rapid development method to manufacture products to customers. The eco20 product platform readers have been designed with better cost effectiveness, safer design and with materials that are nonhazardous, durable and reusable. The eco20 readers can be upgraded by configuration cards or by software upgrades. Idesco encourages designs that profiles the environmental performance of prominently used plastics in electronic enclosures and defines life cycle criteria for sustainable plastics.
