Next generation DESFire readers available
Last week we told you to expect a series of exciting product and software updates around Mifare®, and particularly DESFire Idesco products. We announced that, combined with updates to Idesco’s innovative and powerful DESCoder application (read more below), these new products would constitute an unprecedentedly powerful tool enabling you to control your system, create reader configurations and customise your security settings, conveniently, flexibly and above all, independently.
Idesco is delighted to announce the first arrivals of these powerfully updated readers: Access 7 C 2.0 and Access 8 CD 2.0 in Basic housings are now available for you to order. Additionally, evaluation units for these products with Slim housings are also available: Access 7 C 2.0 Slim, Access 7 Cpin Slim 2.0, Access 8 CD 2.0 Slim and Access 8 CDpin Slim, including OSDP-compliant versions.

New DESCoder unlocks powerful new features
Idesco’s DESCoder application has been updated to extend yet more configurability and customisability to the new Access 8 CD 2.0 readers. Already a powerful application, DESCoder has been enhanced to version 2.0, unlocking new features to ensure your continued freedom to customise your access control in ways that far outstrip anything proprietary, closed technology manufacturers would dare to offer.

Eco-friendly means economical!
Idesco’s roster of exciting product updates is also cascading across Idesco’s eco20 product line. For nearly every one of the current and future product updates Idesco is bringing you in 2012 will also constitute significant improvements in Idesco’s eco20 product initiative.
So, how does our eco20 initiative impact you? An Idesco product labeled eco20 means it consumes 60% less energy than similar products on the market. However, Idesco’s eco20 product line wasn’t designed to merely reduce your energy costs. Rather, our profoundly low power consumption designs were intended to leverage reductions in your emergency power requirement, with all the environmentally-unfriendly costs that necessitates. Simply put, lowered power consumption means less emergency power resources your security infrastructure must purchase and deploy. Gentler on your pocketbook, gentler on the environment.
Idesco has also reduced the amount of epoxy it uses to secure its new, updated readers against inclement weather and tampering. Our readers are still just as tough, but now leave a significantly smaller eco-footprint. Factor in that Idesco’s tough, flexibly re-configurable Access 7 C 2.0 and Access 8 CD 2.0 readers won’t need recycling for a long time because they are so easily migrated into new configurations (and for Access 8 CD 2.0, even higher technologies) in the future, when you are ready. With the simple swipe of a configuration card, you can migrate your reader up to its next level of capability.
The result? Lowered eco-footprint, conveniently extendable lifespan and a leveraging-impact in low power consumption translates into cost savings so significant they actually transcend eco20 products’ smart and sustainable use of resources. Eco-friendly really IS economical!
